“I love being an orthodontist!”
Those are the words of Fallsgrove Dentistry orthodontist, Dr. Andrew L. Schwartz. After more than fifteen years in practice, he still loves being a dental care practitioner in the DMV area.
“I meet so many wonderful people from everywhere. My focus has always been to make sure that my patients feel like they are part of my family when they come in for treatment” Schwartz continues. “I work hard to give my patients all the attention they deserve.” Schwartz came to our practice by way of a dental and orthodontic education at the University of Pennsylvania. His mentor, the world-renowned orthodontist and periodontist, Dr. Robert Vanarsdall, prepared him well to take on dental cases that are challenging and complex.
In fact, taking on the difficult dental cases is what makes his outlook so confident. His goals of creating or recreating an attractive smile and proper bite are always foremost in his mind.
“I love seeing how my patients’ appearance and personality are transformed by the dental work that we do,” Schwartz continues. “Their confidence increases significantly which is a wonderful thing to see.”
Schwartz’s formal education includes a bachelor’s degree from Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia and then a Doctorate of Dental Medicine and orthodontic specialty training residency at the University of Pennsylvania studying under Dr. Vanarsdall. He is also one of the few Board Certified Orthodontists in both Washington, DC and Rockville, MD. This is one of his major achievements as it is very difficult to achieve and most orthodontists do not have it.
Dr. Schwartz keeps updated on orthodontic treatments and dental technology by continuing his education. He never stops learning and applying what he learned so his patients will have the best treatments available.
Additionally, he is a member of a number of professional associations such as the DC Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and the Alpha Omega Jewish Dental Fraternity.
“I am so blessed to live and work in such a wonderful community like the Rockville, MD area,” Schwartz says enthusiastically. “My greatest joy is getting to know my patients and their families. It’s my honor to serve them and make a difference in so many of my patients’ lives. I have the best job ever!” Schwartz and his wife, Jennifer, have three children. They enjoy tennis, golfing, hiking, skiing, and cycling.
